CJC 1295 is a peptide found naturally occurring. This peptide was found inside of certain plants, located in the leaves, stems, and seeds. The exact function has not yet been confirmed, but it has been theorized to be used as the plants protection from harsh environments, and the regulation of root growth.
After its discovery, scientists have worked to synthesize it in the laboratory. From this two forms have been created, CJC 1295 with DAC and CJC 1295 without DAC. These synthetic peptides have been shown to work as an analogue for growth hormone release. It allows for the increased levels of GH, with an end result of the increase of IGF-1 levels.
What is DAC?
DAC, or drug affinity complex, is sometimes found in CJC 1295. This is to help combat the short lifespan of CJC 1295 which has a half-life of around 30 minutes. While CJC 1295 is more natural, with its short burst of GH, CJC 1295 with DAC has a half-life of around eight days.
About CJC 1295 with DAC
After a number of studies done on animal test subjects, it was found that CJC 1295 with DAC can increase protein synthesis. This can lead to increased muscle growth, as well as an increase in bone density. Increased protein production can mean faster recovery periods. This increase protein synthesis was noted to be at the highest when test animals were in the deepest level of sleep. Scientist theorized that the test animals were capable of entering a longer, deeper level of sleep due to the increased protein production.
CJC 1295 with DAC works by interacting with two components, GHRH1-29 and DPP-IV. GHRH1-29 is important in regulate activity involved with growth hormone, specifically being released during the negative feedback loop. DPP-IV, also known as dipeptidyl aminopeptidase IV, is an enzyme utilized in the regulation of the immune system, signal transduction, and is even part of the process of programed cell death.
What CJC 1295 with DAC has been found to do is stop the production of DPP-IV all together, which in turn increases the half-life of GHRH1-29. This allows the half-life of CJC 1295 to be increased by about a week.
About CJC 1295 without DAC
CJC 1295 without DAC works through its ability to bioconjugate with a protein serum, albumin. Bioconjugate means it has the ability to cause a bond between two biomolecules, chemically. Some research has shown a connection with the peptide GHRH1-29, as well. As noted before, this peptide plays a part in the negative feedback loop of growth hormone. It functions to maintain homeostasis of the endocrine processes.
These two forms of CJC 1295 function in very similar ways. The main differences between these peptides are their half-life. CJC 1295 without DAC functions in a more natural way, with a half-life of 30 minutes. In turn CJC 1295 with DAC has an increased half-life of eight days, this allows for the release of more GH.
